Laundry and Library
The log cabins all share a communal laundry, in its own log cabin!  With a washing machine, tumble dryer, and a washer/dryer, ironing facilities and washing baskets as well as a nearby rotary airer.

The cabin is also home to our library of DVD's for guests to borrow, books and games.  Every unit has a key to the cabin, so they can use these facilities 24 hours!

Gardens and Fishing

Ashwater House is set in two acres of grounds, with a private lake, and many flower beds and features.

The childrens play area boasts a wooden play house full of outside toys, with a swing seat for parents to relax on whilst fun is had.

A barbecue is available for guests use, just ask, although we will ask you to supply your own fuel and food!

Guests may walk all the way around the lake, with seats along the way, or stop to feed the fish, moorhens and ducks, and see if you can catch a glimpse of our resident kingfisher.

Our complimentary private fishing lake is approximately half an acre in size, and over twenty feet deep in places and is home to carp, bream, roach, rudd, tench and golden orf.

Due to environmental problems in 2006, we are unsure as to the stock and size of fish, we have installed an aerator to prevent a re-occurence and had the lake cropped of small fry to enable the fish left to thrive.  Our guests are welcome to fish, but very few larger fish have been caught since the problem season, but it is a very pleasant spot to sit on a warm day, and we would be very grateful to anyone catching a large fish and providing us with a photograph!  250lb of 0.5 to 1lb carp introduced in October 2007, hoping for a good 2008!

Update: so far reports of fishing have been favourable up to April 2008

We do ask our guests to refrain from using barbed hooks, or throwing ground bait.
